My motivation in this industry dates back to my days In high school when I noticed myself taking an assertive interest in trying new and different hair and makeup trends. Taking part in events and going to school dances girls would ask me to help them with hair and makeup and all other beauty needs.
Unsure of what career path I wanted to do I decided to take the aesthetics course at Algonquin college.
During that time I got asked by many girls from my home town Rockland to do their prom makeup, and realized I can actually make a career out of this.
After completing the program and graduating with honours; all while volunteering my time at many charity fashion show events, I returned to school to focus on some of the more medical parts of aesthetics to apply to my knowledge in the industry.
In 2012, I moved to Thunder Bay where I worked at a medical spa alongside doctors and nurses doing strictly medical procedures such as laser hair, microdermabrasion, tattoo/skin-tag removal and chemical peels.
A few years later I decided to move back closer to home to reestablish my business where it all started for me. In that time I also took a short break from the industry to start a non-profit animal rescue; something I’ve also been quite passionate about since a very young age.
In 2015 I opened the doors to my first spa, and it quickly took off from there. Since 2016, I’ve had the pleasure of being invited to participate in fashion week runway shows in New York City each and every fall providing services for multiple designers.
I’ve also spent a vast majority of my time in the summers providing wedding services for clients new and old. I take pride in being a part of such memorable moments for the client base I’ve built up over the years. I’m doubly honoured when I’m asked to do weddings for new clients who’ve been referred to me by clients who have been with me and trust and believe in my services to recommend me to their friends and loved-ones.
Along the way, I’ve been nominated numerous times by The Ottawa Wedding Awards and Faces Magazine and have also had the privilege of seeing my work published in Krowd Magazine and Wedding Bells Magazine.
I’ve since expanded my business gradually through the years, and hope to continue to do so for a very long time. I now teach at the same college I was first introduced to this industry, which not only allows me to offer what I’ve learned through the years to the new generation of future aestheticians but allows me to continue educating myself in order to refine my own skill set.
